D-2 GOVERNOR STANDARDIZATION, AFTERMARKET SALES

A study of the governors revealed that almost total coverage of the governor aftermarket sales can be done with

only four piece numbers:

275491 100-120 Furnish in place of 275200 as well as 275491

276049 105-125 High temperature O-Ring used on transit coach

282128 100-120 High temperature O-Rings and waterproof with breather

285097 95-110 Special clearance on governor body 282981. Used with compressors

such as 279707, 284699, 284714, 284959, 284717, 284718, 284719

and 284720. These are the current compressors used on Cummins

engines. Internal oil feed and drain.

Using these four part numbers will enable a distributor to cover the requirements for governors in the field.

In reviewing the basic D-2 governors on pages D-4 and D-5 of the Repair Exchange Manual we wish to advise

the following:

Basic governor 276049, range 105-125 psi, will be used to replace the following governors:
